Introduction to Common Crystals

In lesson 3 we looked at the many benefits of working with crystals and how they can help us. There are so many different ones to choose from so we’ve listed the most common crystals with photos.

Some of the most well-known common crystals include:

1. Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth and comes in various forms, including Clear Quartz (for clarity and amplification), Rose Quartz (for love and compassion), and Amethyst (for spiritual insight).

2. Amethyst - known for its vibrant purple colour and is associated with spiritual growth, intuition, and stress relief.

3. Citrine - often referred to as the "merchant's stone," Citrine is prized for its sunny yellow hue and is believed to bring abundance and positive energy.

4. Rose Quartz - this gentle pink crystal is associated with love, self-care, and emotional healing, making it popular for matters of the heart.

5. Black Tourmaline - used for protection and grounding, Black Tourmaline is believed to absorb negative energy and promote a sense of security.

6. Selenite - Selenite is known for its pure white appearance and is associated with mental clarity, cleansing, and higher consciousness.

7. Lapis Lazuli - With its deep blue colour and golden flecks, Lapis Lazuli is linked to wisdom, communication, and self-expression.

8. Aventurine - Aventurine comes in various colours, with green aventurine being the most common. It's associated with luck, prosperity, and personal growth.

9. Hematite - Hematite is a metallic gray crystal known for its grounding properties and ability to enhance focus and concentration.

10. Carnelian - This vibrant orange crystal is believed to boost motivation, creativity, and confidence.

11. Labradorite - Known for its iridescent play of colours, Labradorite is associated with transformation, intuition, and protection.

12. Moonstone - Moonstone is known for its ethereal sheen and is linked to emotional balance, intuition, and feminine energy.

13. Obsidian - Obsidian comes in various forms, including black obsidian and rainbow obsidian, and is used for protection, inner reflection, and healing.

These are just a few examples of common crystals, each with its unique properties and associations. Exploring these crystals can be a fascinating journey into the world of metaphysical and holistic practices.
